ABOUT DREW

I stayed in it long enough to know what it takes. And what it takes from you.

I spent more than a decade as a trial attorney — high-stakes, high-pressure, and high-achieving. I understand what it costs. And I know there's another way.

The story behind the work

I'm Kristen Drew — attorney, mediator, adjunct law professor, mother, and wife. I've spent my career inside some of the most high-pressure environments the legal profession offers: prosecuting felonies as an Assistant District Attorney, managing a litigation caseload as a partner, and coaching law students to national championships on the mock trial circuit.

For a long time, I was very good at functioning under pressure. What I was less good at was actually feeling like my life had space in it.

Coaching didn't pull me away from the law — it gave me a fuller picture of the work I want to do. I'm still practicing. I'm still teaching. And I'm here because I believe the skills that help people survive high-achieving careers are not the same ones that help them actually live.

I became a coach to offer something I wish I'd had earlier: a space to slow down, think clearly, and figure out what you actually want — not just what you're supposed to want.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

A decade of
high-stakes practice.

10+

years in Legal Practice

Trial attorney, partner, and mediator across Tennessee and Georgia — with experience in family law, criminal defense, and prosecution.

My legal background isn't incidental to my coaching — it's central to it. I understand the pace, the pressure, and the particular exhaustion of a career that demands everything while asking you to make it look effortless.

Courtroom & Mediation

Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed Mediator with extensive experience navigating high-conflict disputes and complex family systems.

Coaching High-performers

Adjunct faculty at Georgia State University College of Law since 2012 — coaching law students to multiple national and regional championship titles.

HOW I WORK

Not career strategy.
Something deeper.

Most clients come to me thinking they have a specific problem to solve — a career decision, a transition, a case of burnout. What we usually find is something broader: a life that's gotten too full to feel.

My coaching creates space — mentally, emotionally, and practically — to slow down enough to hear yourself again. From that place, decisions get clearer. Presence comes back. And the path forward starts to take shape on your terms, not someone else's.

I work with lawyers and high-achieving professionals who are ready to move from survival mode into something steadier. Not because they've failed — but because they're ready for more than what functioning at full capacity actually feels like.

Many high-achieving people aren’t lacking capability — they’re lacking space, calm, and support.
— Drew's coaching philosophy
You don’t have to burn out to find your way forward
— A core belief

I completed my formal coach training through an accredited coaching program and am currently accumulating supervised hours toward my official certification. This is an active, ongoing process — and one I take seriously.

My legal background, decade of courtroom experience, and years of mentoring and teaching complement my coaching training in ways that are difficult to replicate. I bring both the structure of a trained legal mind and the empathy of someone who has lived the pressures my clients are navigating.

Certification is pending and in progress. I'm committed to the full process — because the work deserves it.
